With the rezoning of the land and the approval of the Local Structure Plan things will be changing on site, so it’s important we keep everyone informed and, more importantly, safe, during the construction stages of the project.
The safety measures and site management initiatives we are implementing may impact how you and your household have been in the habit of using the land.
As the entire Glen Iris Estate site is now designated as a construction worksite, it is crucial to note that no unauthorised access is permitted. This is in place for all hours of the day not just during ‘normal’ construction times. This measure is to ensure the safety of all residents and construction personnel. Signage has been installed around the perimeter boundaries of the site to serve as a reminder of this requirement.
With approvals in place, construction-related activity is now underway. Initially, this involves the removal of buildings, car parks, pathways, and other infrastructure associated with the former use of the land. These activities are an essential part of preparing the site for the future major construction works required for the development of the new residential estate. While construction work may cause some temporary inconvenience, we are committed to minimising any potential disruptions and ensuring the smooth progress of the project.
Prior to major construction works commencing, our contractors will implement a range of site management initiatives to mitigate potential impacts on surrounding residents. These initiatives will include industry best practices for managing dust, noise, and vibration. We understand the importance of maintaining a peaceful and comfortable living environment for everyone, and we will make every effort to adhere to these best practices throughout the construction process.
To safeguard your interests, we highly recommend taking up the offer of having a dilapidation survey done if you are contacted by the nominated consultant. These surveys, conducted by independent experts, provide a comprehensive record of the existing condition of your home and its improvements, such as retaining walls and outbuildings. By having a pre-construction report completed on your home, you have a recorded baseline in the event of any potential construction-related issues. These reports are often never needed but are there to protect you as the homeowner.
